This page explains how to have your data deleted from chater360 — whether you are a business using the platform, or a person who messaged a business that uses it. All requests are handled within 30 days.
1. If you are a business using chater360
To delete your workspace and the data chater360 processes for you:
- Email hello@chater.ai from the email address registered on your account, with the subject line “Data deletion request”. Tell us whether you want your full workspace deleted or only specific data (for example one channel’s conversation history).
- Disconnect your channels in the chater360 console, or ask us to do it for you as part of the request.
- Revoke chater360’s access in your Meta settings (see the instructions below) so no further data flows to us.
We will confirm receipt, verify that the request comes from an authorised account holder, and complete deletion within 30 days. Deletion covers conversations, contacts, customer profiles, media and account data. We may retain limited records where the law requires it (for example invoices for tax purposes) and residual copies in encrypted backups, which are purged on the backup rotation cycle.
2. If you messaged a business that uses chater360
chater360 processes conversation data on behalf of the business you messaged — that business controls your data. To have it deleted:
- Contact the business directly (in the same chat is fine) and ask them to delete your conversation data. We give every business the tools to do this.
- Or email us at hello@chater.ai with the phone number or handle you used to message the business, and the business’s name. We will route the request and support its completion.
Either way, deletion is completed within 30 days of a verified request.
3. Removing chater360’s access in your Meta settings
If you connected a Facebook or Instagram account and want to revoke the platform’s access at the source:
- Open Settings & privacy → Settings on Facebook.
- Go to Apps and websites.
- Find the chater360 app in the list, select it, and choose Remove.
- When prompted, you can also tick the option to delete posts, videos or events the app created, if any.
- Open your Instagram Settings.
- Go to Website permissions (or Apps and websites, depending on app version).
- Under Active, find the chater360 app and choose Remove.
- Email hello@chater.ai or use the console to disconnect your WhatsApp Business number; access through the WhatsApp Business Platform stops immediately on disconnection.
Note: removing the app in your Meta settings stops future data access, but does not by itself erase data already processed. Pair it with a deletion request (sections 1 or 2 above) to have existing data deleted as well.
4. What happens after you ask
- We acknowledge your request by email.
- We verify your identity or authority to make the request.
- We delete the data within 30 days and confirm completion to you.
- Where limited records must be retained by law, we tell you what and why.
